THE GLACIER CLUB (DURANGO, CO)
Thank you for considering the Glacier Club for your next Golf School. We offers three of the most scenic golf courses in the Colorado Rockies. Surrounded by glacially striated cliffs and peaks that rise to 14,000 feet, these three nines sit at an average elevation of 7,400 feet. Glacier Club golf amenities include three putting and chipping greens, a state of the art practice facility, and a practice bunker all situated in the beautiful San Juan Mountains.Glacier Club members consider their club one of the last hidden gems in the private golf community world. “We are under the radar and over the mountains … and intended to be that way.” Our community is comprised of family legacies with traditions that grow over the years and a lifestyle that is conducive to years of health.
As the Director of Instruction at the Glacier Club, we pride ourselves on the standard of instruction that we provide to our guests. If you have never attended a golf school before, it can be difficult to choose the right one for you. Below is a brief outline of what you can expect from a typical golf school at The Glacier Club.
Day One:
An academy instructor will meet you at 9:45am in the clubhouse and give you a brief tour of the facility. Once at the practice facility the instructor will review your student profile and discuss your goals and objectives for the school. During the morning your instructor will capture video and work on specific parts of the full swing. After about 3 hours you will break for lunch with your instructor at the Club House where you will review the videos and start to create your game improvement plan. After lunch you will return to the practice facility, warm up, and prepare to go out on the course. Once on the course the instructor will capture video of you playing from different situations and discuss course management and strategy. After you have completed 9 holes with the instructor you are free to continue playing if you wish.
Day Two (if applicable):
Starting at 10am, the theme for the second day of the golf school is short game. During the morning you will learn how to hit seven different short game shots from within 100 yards. Time will also be designated to review videos from the previous days on-course segment. During lunch you and your instructor will determine the strengths and weaknesses of your game, and establish your personalized plan for improvement. The afternoon will be spend back on the golf course where what you have learnt so far will be put into play. More video will be captured in certain locations and course strategy will be discussed. Like the first day you are free to continue playing after the school.
